Everybody needs a little help at some time in their lives. This is especially true for parents and caregivers raising children. Whether it is learning about managing a child’s behaviour and providing boundaries, feeding your family well on your weekly budget, managing challenging family situations, connecting with others in your community or just needing someone to talk to. freshperspective is there to help.

freshperspective is a service of the Open Home Foundation developing a network of parent mentors through partnerships with local Christian churches throughout New Zealand. Mentoring is voluntary and free and aims to help parents and caregivers recognise their strengths and abilities, connect them with supports in their communities and bring a fresh perspective to life. Dirk's Story

Dirk was referred to Fresh Perspective after the recent loss of his partner.  “I wanted other people’s ideas basically.  I had just lost my partner and felt like crap. I needed another person that I could bounce ideas off”.  Dirk wanted support to get through a period when as a family they were grieving and adjusting to the sudden unexpected loss of a much loved partner and mother.
