A freshperspective family mentor is a volunteer. They will have completed an application process (including background checks and references) and training. They receive supervision and support from their local freshperspective church supervisor.

Taking time to listen, and to encourage, a freshperspective mentor will build a relationship with the parent/s or caregiver/s. As they walk alongside them, together they set the direction and purpose for the mentoring journey. Mentors meet regularly with their supervisor for the duration of the time that they are journeying with the parent/ or caregiver/s. 

Mentors are not social workers or trained counsellors. They are great motivators, parents alongside parents journeying together.
